It Runs In the Family

As previously mentioned, our son Nolan decided fried eggs were cooler than vampires when it comes to Halloween costuming. I thought I would share the finished product.

The costume was as simple to make as it looks. Take two round white felt pieces, one yellow round felt piece and stick them all together. We initially had challenges with agreeing on how to affix the costume to him so that it wouldn’t flop over on the sides too much or impede his solicitations for candy. Eventually, I stopped trying to be complicated and just pulled my glue gun out. I can’t sew worth a crap, but give me a glue gun and I can make anything happen.

While you might be tempted, I implore you to refrain from referring to him as “cute”. All mentions of this apparently appalling adjective will be met with a scornful, “I’m not cute. I’m awesome!” I really don’t know where he gets it from. I blame his father.

Handmade Halloween Costumes, Hold The Mayo

When it comes to Halloween, it is against our (lack of) religion to purchase store-bought costumes for the kids. My four-year-old just can’t decide if he wants to be a vampire or a fried egg (it started as a joke, but he loved the idea), so we started looking up pictures on the internet to help him make up his mind. Throughout our search, we discovered some other great food-inspired costumes.

P.S.  WordPress is being a d-bag and isn’t retaining the links I added to credit each photo. I’ll keep working on it.
